Well I suppose it all began about talking about getting a gig somewhere to get us on the road.We were practicing in Neuperlach/Munich in Martin's Mother's place for about 2 months in 1993 just coming up to Christmas actually. I was visiting a Pub in Moosburg yes "The Pub" to be exact and the owner Jorgis said he'd give us a gig and wanted to know the name of the of the band.Since I didn't have a name I had to come up with something quickly, so I thought of the name "Maidrin Ruá" which is Gaelic and means The little red fox.Seeing that I always tied my hair back on stage it looked like a fox tail that I was wearing so it all fitted.Martin heard about the name afterwards but to him one name was as good as another.Well one thing led to the next and before we knew we were where, we here on the road to to lower Bavaria,Franconia to be exact and played that circuit more than any other place in the whole of Germany. We made many friends. We were playing festivals and pubs and privat functions. After 2 years of hard giging we had made something of the music within us.People said such handmade music was hard to find.We didn't have a great sound or have any effect pedals like most bands did at the time we were more into pure sound. In the year of 2003 we had maybe enough of it all and Martin decided in a way to leave. It wasn't easy to take for me but we had at least achieved this CD.I didn't give up I went solo like I had done many years bevor Martin. After 1year I had two new people in the band one Andreas an accordian player and good keyboarder and Volker a good fiddle player. We went out on the road again and started getting good gigs. But luck wasn't playing with us and after no leadership and  no control it fell apart.Yes I'm back solo again.I don't do the pubs anymore but I still do privat gigs.I'm working at the moment on some musical projects and I'm not just doing Irish folk in these projects.Well like I said on the other page our CD is still for sale it has 24 tracks recorded live and it's already been played on Radio Laura's "Folk Fenster".It's not too expensive to buy, I'm not greedy.Send me an email if your interested I'd be glad to here from you and even if you don't want a CD you can still have a chat.
